Frequently asked questions
The things we are asked most often before an order, answered briefly. Each one points to the page that sets it out in full. If your question is not here, write to us.
Which size shade suits my lamp base?
It depends on the base as much as the shade: its height, and how wide it is across the top. Our size guide shows all five sizes standing on real lamps, with the measurements of each shade beside them, which is the quickest way to judge the proportion. If you are still unsure, send us a photograph of your lamp base and we will tell you which size works.
What fitting will I need?
XS, S and Box pleated shades come with a bulb clip, which attaches directly to the bulb and suits small round bulbs with E14 and E27 fittings. M and L shades take a duplex fitting, which needs an adjustable shade carrier secured to a threaded E27 lamp holder. The carrier is sold separately. Our fittings page shows both.
How soon will my order arrive?
What you can add to the bag is finished and in stock, so nothing waits to be made. Orders are processed and shipped within 3–5 business days.
After dispatch, delivery takes 2–3 business days within Sweden and 3–5 within Europe. Elsewhere it varies by destination. You will have a tracking number by email once the parcel is on its way.
Do you ship outside Sweden?
Yes, to Europe and most international destinations. Parcels usually go with PostNord, DHL or UPS, and are generally delivered to your nearest pickup point.
Prices at checkout do not include import duties or customs fees, so any duties, taxes or import fees charged on arrival are yours to pay. If you cannot see a shipping option for your country at checkout, write to us at hello@bellevueatelier.com and we will do our best to help.
Can I return a piece?
Eligible pieces may be returned within 14 days of delivery, unused, undamaged and in their original packaging. Once your return has arrived and been inspected we will email to confirm, and an approved refund reaches your original payment method within 3–7 business days.
Made to order pieces, meaning anything cut, sewn or sized to your own specification, fall outside the right of withdrawal. That never affects your statutory rights if a piece arrives faulty, damaged or is not what you ordered.
How do I look after it?
Dust a shade with a soft brush or a vacuum on its lowest setting. Linen should not be washed or wiped with water, and a mark is better left to a professional than worked at. Cushion covers unzip from the inner cushion and should be dry cleaned rather than spot cleaned.
Our pieces are made from natural materials, so small variations in texture, tone, pattern or finish are part of their character rather than a fault.
