Lampshades in GP & J Baker fabric

GP & J Baker was founded in England in 1884 by the brothers George Percival and James Baker. The firm began by importing carpets from Persia, Turkey and Central Asia before moving into printed textiles. Over the years it built what it describes as the largest privately owned textile archive in the world, including pattern books from the 18th and 19th centuries. The archive still inspires its collections today, and GP & J Baker holds a Royal Warrant to King Charles III.

We grew up with GP & J Baker's patterns, which might be why they feel so much like home to us. We love the lush prints and botanical motifs, and how designs from an archive well over a century old still feel so fresh. They really come into their own on a lampshade: lovely to look at even when the lamp is off, and when you switch it on the whole fabric lights up.
