Lampshades in Colefax and Fowler fabric
Colefax and Fowler has been part of English interior design since the early 1930s, when Sibyl Colefax set up her decorating business in London. In 1938 the designer John Fowler became her partner, and in 1944 the firm took the name Sibyl Colefax & John Fowler. Together with the decorator Nancy Lancaster, Fowler went on to shape what we now call the English country house style: beautiful textiles, antique pieces, layered rooms and an effortless sense of comfort. The fabric collections grew out of this decorating tradition.
Colefax and Fowler is as much about how a room feels as how it looks, and that's what we love about it. The florals, soft colours and classic English patterns feel familiar in the nicest way. A lampshade in one of their fabrics makes a room feel cosier, whether it sits on an antique lamp base or a more modern one.
